About the role

In an era where AI and data applications are revolutionizing industries, key skills in software development and software engineering are increasingly vital. As a Software Engineering Content Developer, you will directly contribute to DataCamps mission to democratize data education.

You will collaborate with global industry experts and our skilled Data Engineering and ML Engineering Curriculum team to enhance and expand our educational content. Your role involves reviewing, advising, and primarily advocating for our learners through courses, practice materials, and projects. You should possess a solid technical foundation in languages like Python and Java, version control systems like Git, as well as a profound understanding of software design and testing principles. Here at DataCamp, you will shape our growing developer curriculum and lead complex projects to successful completion.

To be effective in this role, you must have very strong coding skills and an interest in education technology. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for coding and data education, who wants to join a fast-growing startup thats training the next generation of data and related engineering professionals.

Responsibilities

Content Creation

• Create new and exciting software engineering content.
• Work with cross-functional teams to enable content creation for more advanced technical topics.
• Researching and recommending new data and software engineering courses.
• Write automated tests in Python to provide personalized feedback for learners.
• Utilize learner feedback to make data-driven suggestions for content improvements.

Project Management

• Manage the course development process from post-planning through course launch.
• Work closely with course instructors to ensure our content is interactive and engaging.
• Effectively set and hold instructors accountable for deliverable deadlines.

Qualifications

• Teaching or mentoring experience.
• Strong technical foundation in Python, Git, Bash, and similar technologies.
• Bonus: hands-on experience with Java or JavaScript.
• Experience working in a project management environment.
• Enjoys working with other people and interacting with subject matter experts.
• Has completed online courses from DataCamp and/or other providers.
• Able to effectively synthesize, visualize, and communicate your ideas to others, including non-technical audiences.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong command of English, both written and verbal.
• Know when to push back, challenge an idea, seek out compromise, and do so positively and for the benefit of the company.
