Safety & Operations Officer – Offshore & Power Electronics

Within Grid Services Offshore & Power Electronics, we ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our offshore and onshore assets. Safety is a top priority. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the maintenance, operational follow‑up and continuous development of offshore substations, HVDC converter stations and subsea cable systems. You will also support the integration of new assets and the delivery of large‑scale infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring operational safety and strengthening the team’s safety culture.
  • Organising ERP exercises and planning and following up training, certifications and inspections.
  • Preparing and reviewing procedures, method statements, risk assessments and other safety documentation.
  • Preparing, coordinating and following up offshore interventions.
  • Supporting marine coordination (vessels, helicopters, personnel transfers, daily meetings and weather monitoring).
  • Managing the Offshare application and liaising with the software supplier.
  • Acting as Operational Responsible Onshore during offshore interventions.
  • Supporting O&M and safety topics within future Offshore and Power Electronics projects.
  • Leading or participating in projects and working groups.
  • Contributing to the efficient operation of the Offshore Operation Center.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, field visits and vessel audits.
  • Actively contributing to the further development of Grid Solutions Offshore & Power Electronics.
Profile
  • A Master’s degree in an engineering or technical field, or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience with offshore projects or offshore O&M is a strong asset.
  • Strong organisational, communication and coordination skills.
  • An analytical, accurate and solution‑oriented mindset.
  • A proactive and assertive team player.
  • Flexibility and willingness to participate in offshore interventions.
  • Good knowledge of IT applications.
  • Knowledge of offshore safety regulations and procedures, or the motivation to develop this expertise.
  • Fluent Dutch and English, with a good command of French. Knowledge of German is considered an asset.
