ENGIE Global Energy Management & Sales has a global presence where its Short Term activities are organized from 8 offices worldwide. From there we operate the gas & power markets twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

We balance our portfolio and the portfolio of our customers which includes wind and solar, thermal, hydro & storage solutions and will give you a full oversight how physical markets are working and how we are evolving towards a Net Zero Carbon society.

This role will be organized in the Expertise Center Short Term and is part of a people development program were we want to steer and support talented profiles in our shift teams.

By taking part in this program and after your training and first mission in your country of residence, you will have the opportunity for a one year mission abroad in another shift team.

Role:

Your first mission will take place within the Short Term Trading desk in Brussels, where your focus to maximize the revenues of the ENGIE power portfolio within the CWE region meaning Belgium, France, Netherlands and Germany.

Key missions: You will be responsible for:

Maximizing the value of the portfolio in intra-day, taking into account intraday cross-border capacity, asset availabilities, real-time generation constraints, power sales reforecast, intermittency and demand side management options; Accelerate algotrading for intraday markets in line with developing new strategies e.g. to minimize the balancing costs and to capture trading opportunities on the different markets; Leveraging our market expertise and act as a single window to the intraday Market in order to cover the real time physical needs of our customers (assets, renewable, clients,...).

Hard skills: Any interdisciplinary skills is a must: Economical (trading, risk management), Financial (P&L, Reporting) & Digital (Data, Coding, PO); Any knowledge of physical power and gas markets is a plus.

Soft skills: You demonstrate a pragmatic, economic and logical attitude combined with problem solving skills; You are able to perform in stressful circumstances with tight deadlines; You are looking forward to collaborate with others and be part of a team; You have a thirst for learning and easily take initiative; You are willing to perform in 24/7 shift schedule

Education and professional background:

Bachelor or master in relevant studies (Engineering, Economics or Digital);

Professional experience on energy markets and/or digitalization is a plus.

Languages:

You are fluent in English. Dutch or French is a plus;

Other EU language will be required for a mission abroad.
